Site Inspections:
Workplace inspections help prevent injuries and illnesses. Through a critical examination of the workplace, inspections identify and record hazards for corrective action. Active Training Consultants can help plan, conduct, report, and monitor inspections. Regular workplace inspections are an essential part of the overall occupational health and safety program and help you comply with OSHA.
Job Hazard Analysis:
Many workers are injured and killed in the workplace every day in the United States. Safety and health can add value to your business, your job, and your life. You can help prevent workplace injuries and illnesses by looking at your workplace operations, establishing proper job procedures, and ensuring that all employees are correctly trained. A job hazard analysis is a technique that focuses on job tasks to identify hazards before they occur. It focuses on the worker's relationship, the task, the tools, and the work environment. Ideally, after we identify uncontrolled hazards, we will help you take steps to eliminate or reduce them to an acceptable risk level.
Safety Programs:
An effective safety and health program depends on the credibility of management's involvement in the program, the inclusion of employees in safety and health decisions, rigorous worksite analysis to identify hazards and potential hazards, including those which could result from a change in worksite conditions or practices, stringent prevention and control measures, and thorough training. Our professionals will help you systematically set up an effective training program for your company and work with you to draft a specialized set of standards, policies, procedures, and an implementation plan.
Emergency Response Team Development:
Our professionals will help your company develop an emergency response team that is proficient in First Aid/CPR/AED. Risk Assessment:
Risk assessment is the cornerstone of an approach to prevent occupational accidents and ill health. There are good reasons for this. If the risk assessment process – the start of the health and safety management approach – is not done well or not done at all, the appropriate preventive measures are unlikely to be identified or put in place. Every year, millions of people in the United States are injured at work or have their health seriously harmed in the workplace. That is why risk assessment is so critical as the key to healthy workplaces. Risk assessment is a dynamic process that allows enterprises and organizations to put a proactive policy of managing workplace risks.
Workplace Safety Audits & Inspections:
Inspection of work areas and audits of safety programs are tools that can be used to identify problems and hazards before these conditions result in accidents or injuries. Audits also help to determine the effectiveness of safety program management and can be used as a guide to assure regulatory compliance and a safe workplace.
Employee Manual:
An employee manual is an essential communication tool between you and your employees. We specialize in writing a well-written employee manual specific to your company. This employee manual sets forth your expectations for your employees and describes what they can expect from your company and what is expected of them. Without a correctly written employee manual, your company faces much greater exposure to the following: Employee lawsuits, sexual harassment claims, wrongful termination lawsuits, discrimination lawsuits, and hostile work environments.
Incident and Accident Investigation:
Your company has just experienced an incident resulting in an unintentional injury to a worker. Now what? Reacting quickly to the incident with a prescribed procedure and actions can demonstrate your company's commitment to safety and ensure the proper information is collected to fulfill an incident investigation's ultimate purpose – to prevent future incidents. Our staff can effectively train your company in the proper steps in this vital topic.
Forklift and Aerial Lift Operator Training:
Does your Company Meet OSHA Requirements for Operator Training? Do Your Operators Receive Refresher Training Every Three Years? Many companies experience near misses with hi-lo drivers. We can train your drivers in the most effective ways of material handling. We can also provide train the trainer for someone in your company.
Sound Monitoring:
With noise, OSHA's permissible exposure limit (PEL) is 90-dBA for all workers for an 8-hour day. The OSHA standard uses a 5-dBA exchange rate. This means that when the noise level is increased by 5-dBA, the amount of time a person can be exposed to a certain noise level to receive the same dose is cut in half. Therefore, at Active Training Consultants, LLC, we use state of the art noise monitoring devices that can help ensure your employees are adequately protected against noise within the workplace.
A 10-Step Plan for Safety:
We have developed the 10-Step Plan for Safety with the goal of helping your manufacturing/industrial company develop a culture where all members of the organization actively manage workplace safety and health.
